Grounding Meditation
"One of the most important mind yoga meditations is learning to ground yourself. If you are properly grounded the other meditations will be more safe and balanced [excerpt from Grounding Meditation: the feet and tadasana (mountain pose)]."
This is true to Tai Chi as well. In the book The Way of Energy by Master Lam Kam Chuen, grounding techniques are taught before introducing other exercises and principles.
